The Nakamura in the house

Natsumi’s parents came to visit from Tokyo this week. It was so great to have them over. We had such a great time hanging out, drunk a lot of wine!

The primary gaol for their trip was to check out Natsumi’s performance at this operatta The Grand Duke. Natsumi was very happy that they put up a great show last night for her parents. Here’s a picture that Okasan (Natsumi’s mother) took with her cell phone:

I will put up the pictures of their stay on flickr in two weeks.

Quiting Big Sur Marathon

I am supposed to do the Big Sur Marathon tomorrow. Unfortunately, I am not feeling that great these few days. I am very frustrating, but I think it’s the right decision not to do the marathon. Just to make myself feel better, I have just signed up for the San Francisco Marathon. It’ll be in end of July, I guess I’ll have some incentive to keep running.

Natsumi playing for The Grand Duke

Natsumi is playing cello for this Standard Savoyard’s show, The Grand Duke. It is her first time playing for an opera where the orchestra has to pay attention and match what goes on on the stage.

She is already having a great time at the rehersals. I can’t wait to see the show!

Dad’s 60th birthday

We had a great trip to Japan/HongKong in Feb. It was my dad’s 60th birthday. My parents along with Uncle Wai and my brother’s family flew to Kyoto from HongKong. We all got to Kyoto on the same day and hanged out there (including my in-laws from Tokyo) for a week. What a great time.

Here are some pictures from Kyoto:

I then went to HongKong for a few days, mainly for Dad’s 60th birthday banquet. It was so great to see all the extended family and friends. Everyone is doing great and a lot of beautiful kids!!
